Founded in 1983, Swanton Berry Farm was the first certified-organic strawberry grower in California and offers pick-your-own at its Coastways Ranch along Highway 1 in Pescadero. Visitors can pick organic strawberries in spring and olallieberries/blackberries into summer on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservation needed). Picking is typically open weekends from roughly April through July, with windy coastal conditions, so layers are recommended.
