Volcan Valley Apple Farm is a 10-acre pick-your-own orchard at the foot of Volcan Mountain just north of downtown Julian. Its trellis system keeps fruit at arm's reach for pickers of all ages, and seven varieties (Gravenstein, Gala, Jonathan, Empire, Fuji, Pippin, and Golden Delicious) ripen in waves. The dog- and family-friendly farm is open weekends in the short Julian apple season and sells fresh-pressed cider on-site.
