Held each September at Christianson's Nursery on Best Road in Mount Vernon, the Skagit Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival is a sanctioned Great Pumpkin Commonwealth (GPC) weigh-off site and one of the Pacific Northwest's longest-running giant-vegetable competitions. Growers check in pumpkins from 9 a.m. to noon, with the official weigh-off running 1–3 p.m. Alongside the competition, the free family event features pony rides, face painting, toad races, carnival games, harvest food, and live music. The 2025 event (13th annual) was held September 20, 2025; the 2026 date is estimated as the third Saturday of September based on the recurring pattern. Admission and parking are free; a small fee applies for select activities.
