Vaughan Cherry Farm is a seasonal u-pick cherry farm on Hazelgreen Road NE in Salem, just east of I-5 past the Little Pudding River. The orchard grows two sweet varieties — Sweetheart and the blush-colored Starletta — alongside three pie-cherry varieties: Weischel, Balaton, and Montmorency. The short season typically opens in early July (pie cherries first, sweet cherries a day or so later), with fruit sold by the pound and trees kept low enough that no ladders are needed. In recent seasons the farm has been open Friday through Monday, 8am to 5pm.
