Now in its second decade, the Tieton Día de los Muertos celebration is one of the Yakima Valley's most distinctive fall community events. Organized by Tieton Arts & Humanities and held at the Mighty Tieton Warehouse, the festival features a large community altar where visitors bring photos and mementos of loved ones, traditional music and dance performances, dancing horses, food vendors, art exhibitions, and a tappet sand painting. The accompanying exhibition runs for two weeks following the main celebration. The event reflects the deep cultural heritage of the valley's Latino farmworking community and is free and open to all.
