The Walchli family grows the famous Hermiston watermelons and is the largest melon grower in the Pacific Northwest. Their Big Blue Shed farm stand at 32697 E Loop Road sells straight from the harvest: asparagus from mid-April to mid-June, then melons and other produce from mid-July through September. The stand is a stop on the River to Hills Farm Trail in Eastern Oregon.
