💡 Scarecrow kits sell for about $20 ($15 for SOHS members) and include everything you need — arrive early on Saturday for the best pick of materials.

The Southern Oregon Historical Society hosts this long-running harvest festival each September at Hanley Farm, a working historic farm between Central Point and Jacksonville. Admission is free, with family activities including pumpkin painting, apple bobbing, cider-making, children's games, heritage quilt displays, and guided farmhouse and farm tours. Visitors can buy a scarecrow kit to build a full-size straw-stuffed scarecrow and enter it in the People's Choice contest. Food trucks and concessions are on site.
